Acceptance TestingA new SMART release typically includes hundreds of changes since the last version. Although we try very hard to make such changes compatible with previous versions of Smart. occasionally we implement an 'improvement' which causes inconvenience to existing users. It is strongly recommended that when installing a SMART upgrade you initially upgrade only one control room work station and one accounts workstation and hold off upgrading remaining workstations for a few days. If you encounter any drawbacks from the upgraded workstations, you can restore them to the previous version by copying the files from the c:\Smart3\Backups directory to the Smart3 directory. Test PathsTest paths are descriptions of tests to be carried out on computer software to verify that it works correctly. Test paths are used internally at Skorpion to test changes which are made in Smart. End users may find them useful when deciding whether to accept changes made at their request. Developers writing test paths, please note that test paths must be written so that they can be carried out by an end user with minimal technical knowledge. Any technical feedback should be written to a log file which can be retrieved by an end user e.g. by email. |
