Exporting data from SmartSmart provides numerous ways to make data stored in the Smart database available to other applications, for example spreadsheets, word processors, report writers, and accounting packages. Custom interfaces can also be provided which enable complete (two-way) integration with other software packages. This section of documentation is incomplete. Exporting from ReportsYou can export the output of any Smart report as a text file by choosing to preview the report, then clicking on the letter T which appears near the Print button:
You will be asked to enter the name of a file to create. The text file can be opened in a spreadsheet program (e.g. Excel) or a text editor (e.g. NotePad). Depending on the layout of the report you may be able to specified fixed width columns in a spreadsheet which will make it easier to manipulate the output. Export to SpreadsheetSelect \Accounts \Export/Import \Export to Spreadsheet from the Main Menu.
The primary purpose is to export the selected services in a .CSV file which is compatible with most spreadsheet programs. However this also allows you to preview or print the output in a spreadsheet-like format. The 'BAS Number' shown in the spreadsheet is the GL code set in the Customer Rates window.
